Kind of hypocritical to talk about this after having gone nearly a month and a half without posting on my blog, huh? Regardless, I wanted to talk about the importance of routine, and how I have established a few different routines in my everyday life.
First off, my morning routine is the same – every .single. day. I set my alarm for 5:20am every morning so that I can snooze it once (shouldn’t even do that but it’s my routine ok!), and still get up at 5:30am. Then, I sit up, check my email, get my doggie, and go downstairs to make my hot lemon water and green smoothie (a must). After those things are ready I take them and my dog back upstairs so that I can get in the shower and get ready for the day. I always watch a TV show while I get ready, whether it is a rerun of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix, or the newest episode of Big Brother. I am usually ready by about 6:25am, which leaves me just the right amount of time to pack my lunch and leave for work between 6:40am and 6:45am.
Once I get to work, I start my work routine. I use the same programs in the same order and just go down the list as my day progresses.. I also always make sure to take my breaks and lunch at the same time everyday – gotta love consistency!
I have found that having a routine has helped me to be more productive and overall more organized in my day to day life. My morning routine sets me up for a day full of healthy and conscious eating; it’s so nice not to have to even think about what I am going to eat every morning! Additionally, since I just recently started at my new job, establishing a daily routine has helped me to remember all of my responsibilities and figure out how to do them efficiently and correctly.
